A summer of premieres: Cheltenham Festival, Aberystwyth Arts fest, Wigmore Hall

It has been a tricky transition period over the summer for venues and festivals, who have been unsure whether or not concerts would be able to go ahead as planned. I cannot imagine the pressure on festival, event and concert organisers who are employing and booking people as well as trying to advertise tickets, in the midst of ever-changing Covid guidelines. I was therefore pinching myself when three premieres did actually happen over the summer! Firstly, a song cycle I wrote for the Wigmore Hall alongside poet Harry Jelley; secondly, a performance by the Carice Singers of my wordless choral interlude at the beautiful Pitville Pump Room in Cheltenham; and finally an installation with visual artist Sally Maclachlan at Aberystwyth Arts Festival. More information about all these pieces on my works list.
